SpaceX is targeting Saturday, May 15 for its next Starlink mission launching aboard Falcon 9 from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The instantaneous window is at 6:56 p.m. EDT, or 22:56 UTC, and a backup opportunity is available on Sunday, May 16 at 6:33 p.m. EDT, or 22:33 UTC. On board this mission are 52 Starlink satellites, a Capella Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite, and Tyvak-0130.

The Falcon 9 first stage booster that supported this mission previously launched NASA astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley to the International Space Station, ANASIS-II, CRS-21, Transporter-1, and three Starlink missions. Following stage separation, SpaceX will land Falcon 9’s first stage on the “Of Course I Still Love You” droneship, which will be located in the Atlantic Ocean. One half of Falcon 9’s fairing previously supported the SXM-7 mission, and the other previously supported the NROL-108 mission.

At some point, will need to start preparing the moon for future bases with lunar starlink and GPS-lunar systems. Add-in a landing pad, as well. SpaceX can do this.

💡 Seems to me that with a "little tweaking", StarLink's satellite array could be made to also listen outwards, giving us a planet-sized, omni-directional, phased-array radio-telescope. Useful for detecting killer asteroids? Synergistic with Elon"s goals? Then with another array of satellites around Mars, we could have a solar system sized telescope.
Someone with knowledge of radio telescopes should pitch this idea to Elon Musk.

Elon Musk, his companies, I love you all! You should have made a magnetic rail tunnel embedded in the earth at a 50 degree angle of exit about 7 miles long, and you could launch all the fossil fuels into space using less than a third of the fuel,(will only be needed for vector control and stabilizing) which is one of the primary expenses, using solar energy, transmitted from space using massive mirror arrays located in the north and south pole that reflect and focus massive amount of solar energy into orbital generators that transmit power back to earth via tight microwave beam, routed then via cables to the world.(transatlantic cable etc) You then can modularly launch humans , materials , fuel into space safely using the sun. It would be far safer and efficient and better in every way. You can launch modular massive 3d printer arrays that can land on a planet and establish a setup for landing and housing before you even arrive. Using a simple tapered cone for insertion landing on a pad, like a mating fit would eliminate many issues. It would be a simple frame construct sleeve affixed to a landing platform created as well by the 3d printers. I love you all, but the most ironic thing has occurred. Your companies literally have every technology to do this , and are leading most, yet you are choosing archaic methods over reasoning and higher scope logic, risking lives and material and wasting time. Is it oversight, I imagine so, or you are already building one. These are the only two options. So, you have to be able to see in time if you really want to mastermind how to travel in space. Otherwise you just waste it. The 60's HArp project proved you can do this as well, yet with a magrail tunnel, it could launch everything, safely, humans and all, using the sun, using fossil fuels where they actually won't cause us harm; in space.
If anyone is presuming to judge me, just know that Yale and Standford representatives came out to me when I was 15 to test me because of what happened in HighSchool. They said this, not me, that I am a creative genius off the charts. A borderline genius with numbers and such, and I have excellent coordination, which effects more than just the body. I have already created the fastest form of human powered transportation, which is a new form of bicycle that has a 1.5 times gain over any other bicycle or human powered set up , period. I also just hacked my own cooling technique in which one of the presidents of the company that I acquired certain components from contacted me because no one has ever used their technology like I have, and I am achieving superior results all across the board, efficiency, safety, performance.
I really hope all you arrogant naysayers wake up and learn how to find true masterminds, and not just assume things so much, BYE!

Our question to you: Do you get extra energy from solar panels on Mars?
If you don't, why don't you use a new, Pilter energy source from the cold?
The place where the solar panel is covered is a shadow. And the parts that are shaded on the planet are cold. You can get extra energy and with this energy you can clean the dust on the solar panel.

Hey, SpaceX, when the booster lends it we the viewers always see loss of signal. I understand that the booster interferes with the satellite dish on the ship, right? Why don't you fix this by deploying a smaller vessel with the dish at some distance from the drone ship??? And why not install better cameras on the rocket? Excuse me, but sometimes they look like those UFO videos taken on a calculator. Please, mount 4K cameras on the rocket!!!

You are ruining the night sky for millions of people around the world. I've never seen anyone be so selfish. How the hell are people going to take valuable important pictures of space from the earth. You have no right to do this. You are a disgrace. You do not care one bit about this planet or its people. Elon musk you have no right to ruin the night sky for the entire population of earth.
    This is just pure greed.
We don't need these satellites. We do however need to study the universe and you are going to ruin this for the entire globe. You do not have the right to decide who on earth gets to image the night sky and who doesn't.
    Absolute disgrace.

@Paul Scott you must’ve been looking at a “satellite train” which is much brighter because it still hasn’t been deployed into its proper orbit. Once the sunshade is deployed brightness is reduced by 70%. It takes a couple of months or weeks to get in the proper orbit. With starship they plan on launching the sats directly into the correct orbit. Only 1 satellite should be overhead at once since they have 25km range unless you are at a very high elevation. They’ve been following some of sat con 1’s recommendations.

    • Paul Scott

      Paul Scott

@Miguel Ruiz exactly you lose data , and you can see satellites all night long with the naked eye I've sat on top of mountains watching them. Not only at dusk and Dawn but in the middle of the night. You are obviously not an astrophotographer.

    • Miguel Ruiz

      Miguel Ruiz

      2 ਮਹੀਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ

@Paul Scott they can’t be seen by the unaided eye or low magnification once at their proper orbit. I guess all those professional astronomers are also clueless. You can remove the streaks using image stacking and pixel rejection algorithms, but you do lose light data.

    • Paul Scott

      Paul Scott

      2 ਮਹੀਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ

@Miguel Ruiz no actually there isn't some magic software to remove all the streaks. You havnt got a clue. They are visible at any height to a camera , doesn't matter what position they are in. They can be seen all throughout the night

Hey SpaceX where do I apply for a job in person? I am down here in South Padre.. where is your office here? Where can I meet with you somebody? I have ideas and I'm very learned... I know that you're shipping ethanol, or; if you're not, you should be shipping ethanol to Mars right now, for terraforming. And you can turn it into water again and sugar and fuel. You're going to want a lot of sugarcane. Lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of sugarcane and lots and lots and lots. Once you do that you can inject algae into the soil and create an algae tree system. Once you do that you'll be breathing oxygenated atmosphere in 30 years all the way around Mars. Give me a job I want to work for you please please. Give me a job please I want to work for you I'm very smart. I am down here in South Padre and I need to tell you guys some things. And I can fix your backwards rig rocket. Please tell Elon, that I can fix the backwards rig rocket that keeps malfunctioning in the Atlantic Ocean.

    • Xanther Blaze

      Xanther Blaze

If you face the bough of the rocket backwards in an angular way once you launch the rocket you can go in reverse and the atmosphere will pull the rocket off the planet with no more fuel required all you need to do is lift it off the ground and it'll get sucked off into the channel. Basically reverse the payload rocket structure and add the f45 subject to it. Then you just put it in reverse and you can go from the ground to the air in less than 60 seconds into the atmosphere and into outer space. You will use no fuel almost at all. What's 60 seconds of fuel on a F 45? It can't be nothing in comparison to what they're using now. It's the literal elevator guys. Please give me a job, and I deserve it, I studied very hard to learn these things.

Addable outside turnable engines, TiB2 or TiC + vacuum chambers isolation + Ti alloy shell also cooled by CNG/O2 gas expansion for hypersonic and space flights to earth orbit hotel or mars & l TiB2 made melted and welded in very high pressure argon filled room with robots.
Rocket engines don't use air oygene and N2 acceleration mass burning much outside of rocket cone but maybe boostable with tank O2 for vertical starts and only that in outer space etc.

@David Lewis there is this annoying thing called latency, so what happens is if there is something in the way of the satellite it doesn’t work, so if there is a rocket in the way then it won’t work, most likely spaceX got buffering on the dronship camera for a few seconds so it was a few seconds behind, and the reason it cut out is one that I already explained. Does that awnser your question or are we still having a misunderstanding.

@Harry likes space I certainly miss this respectfully, I’m not sure if there’s an understanding of what I’m trying to say. The rocket on the left side has already landed on the pad… The right camera is still rolling with no rocket on the pad. You can even see the ocean waves in the background. If these two camera shots are simultaneously in real time, someone forgot to edit the rocket in.

@HammerPT Please notice that: - most of those starving peoples are located in war zones. Before any humanitarian aid can be dispatched, You need to send there armed forces. Other ways: all those help will be grabbed by local warlords and sold on black markets. - humanitarian aid programs both from individual countries and from ONZ do have much larger budgets than NASA, or any other space agency/company - once again: please look at my comment about India. Access to internet simply created dozens of millions jobs there. Those peoples didn't need further humanitarian aid - they could improve they living conditions and take care of them selfs, when they started earning decent moneys. - same as above can be applied to regions/countries like Nepal, Mongolia, Philippines, central Africa and Latin America. Where conventional network connections are either impossible or would take decades to being build. About evil companies and 'good' governments. As I have mentioned I was born and I'm living in post comunist country. In capitalism You do have many companies rivaling each other. They watch each other hands and expose each other wrongdoings. In socialism You have one company: government. Which makes the same bad stuff as companies in capitalism, but it also controls all media, law enforcement and military. It is like most evil company imaginable, without any controll. Trust me - I have lived in both of those system. Capitalism does sucks a loot, but alternatives (socialism, feudalism) are worse. Much worse.

@Harry likes space Before thinking about providing the internet to the entire world population, a service that is not essential, we should already start by providing food, medicine and education to nearly a billion people who live on less than a dollar a day! 2.8 billion people, nearly half of the world's population, live on less than $ 2 a day! 448 million children who are underweight. Every day, 30,000 children under the age of five die from preventable diseases! More than a billion people do not have access to safe water. So you can call me egoist, but in fact the egoist it is you who only thinks of your little luxury and your internet connection! I have traveled a lot and seen the misery of this world ... I have seen enough to know where the problem is ... to listen to you, internet and all the money spent to put in service starlink will solve all the problems basics of this world! once again, starlink is just a project of a megalomaniac, which will above all benefit the rich!

@HammerPT in the US alone 15 million people don’t have internet, you are just showing that you are selfish and don’t care about others needs. And that thing you said about it being for the rich, Bull-sh1t. The people who live out in the country, especially Ireland where I come from, has very bad internet for rural areas, they charge over €100 for 15 mbs and a data cap of 40gb. At least that is what I used to have, but people around me are getting 5 mbs for the same price as ours. This would be so beneficial to so many people, including me. So before you complain net time know that there is other people in the world mat.

@HammerPT ".. who will exploit cheap labor from underdeveloped countries" dude, please. I have several friends in India. They work now in IT departments. On average they salary is between 1500-2000$. It my looks small: but the alternatives in India were total crap jobs for 200-300$ (per month!). " We are already connected here on earth and starlink is just a waste of resources!" -> can I ask You where are You living? I'm from one of post-soviet countries. And I do know situations in countries like Mongolia, Romania, Tropical Africa regions. 50Kb/s with data cap at 2GB and 40$ price is quite fast offer in those regions. And if You think that this is minority: You have over 4 billions peoples living in such regions.

    • HammerPT

@Wojtek Sykurski again as you said, this will benefit the rich, the companies ... who will exploit cheap labor from underdeveloped countries! We always come back to the same point ... a maximum of profits and profits for companies already very rich! We can discuss for hours, everyone will keep these positions and opinions on the merits of Spacex and Starlink. One thing is for sure, as much as I am a positive person who believes that the future of humanity is in space, I believe that here on earth we are going straight into the wall! Humanity must dream, it always has, but in an environment we do not understand and with limited resources we must first be realistic. We are already connected here on earth and starlink is just a waste of resources! As for the link on Chinese pollution, it is pure hypocrisy ... China certainly pollutes, but it also pollutes because the Western American and European companies in the lead relocate their production down there for maximum profits! China pollutes, it is a fact, but here is another, the Western countries, USA, Europe, AUSTRALIA and so on, they lie to their citizens by making them believe that they pollute less, whereas in in fact they just de-localize their pollution in poor countries and the next target will be India. We live in a manipulative, hypocritical society cradled by dreams of megalomaniacs totally disconnected from reality. It's a shame!

Was there a starlink launch that messed up and ended up leaving a jumbled mess of satellites?
Some friends and I were driving through Oregon last night. We saw a line of satellites that reminded me of starlink but they were a jumbled mess. There was probably fifty of them, but they were way too close together and not in a straight line at all.

@Ethan Roberts We all tried taking photos of it when we saw it, but our phones couldn't quite do the job. I've seen them all lined perfectly lined up before, but this was a jumbled mess of spots in the night sky. There was really no order to it at all, it kind of looked like a flock of birds if that makes any sense. we stopped the car and watched as it made its way all the way across the sky. It definitely wasn't a uniform line, but they stayed in perfect unison for the entire duration that we watched. my first thought when looking at it was that something went foul and the satellites were released in some funky way that made them not line up properly.
